How we started
From Conversations to Community
What started as a few conversations, became our community. As friends, we often spoke about what it felt like to navigate major life transitions without support — to be first-generation, balancing expectations at home and pressure outside, with no real space to figure it all out. We’ve resonated with it all - the in-between, trying to move forward with limited guidance, and often feeling like we had to do it alone.
We realized that inherently, coming from families who sacrificed so we could have more — but having more didn’t always mean having guidance. We weren’t handed blueprints, but we found ways to build anyway and that’s how thirdspace came into fruition. We came to be what we needed growing up: a space to reflect, reconnect, and grow without having to perform, prove, or do it alone.

Our Mission
We aim to create intentional spaces where Black and racialized youth can reflect, grow, and build community, especially during life’s transitional moments. Through workshops, mentorship, and events, we support youth in navigating identity, leadership, and their future with care and connection at the core.
Our Vision
We hope for a future where black youth have access to spaces that center their growth, experiences, and potential. Our vision is to create spaces where youth feel seen, supported, and equipped to actualize their goals — not just to succeed by someone else’s definition, but to build lives rooted in purpose, connection, and joy.
